Job summary

Orlando Health is seeking a vigilant Monitor Tech in Florida to oversee continuous telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation. You will document measurements, coordinate with nurses, and ensure escalation protocols are followed for rhythm changes and patient safety.

Responsibilities include lead placement, routine troubleshooting, and maintaining uninterrupted monitoring, with emphasis on accuracy, confidentiality, and timely communication across shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• ECG competency assessment with Rhythm Test >=84% or complete ECG course within 60 days.
• BLS/Health Care provider certification required.
• Monitor Technician with related experience and ECG competency or willingness to take ECG course.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and reviews patient information to determine baseline cardiac rhythm.
• Demonstrates lead placement competency for accurate rhythm analysis.
• Analyzes rhythm and records measurements every 6 hours or PRN per protocols.
• Notifies RN of rhythm changes and follows escalation protocol.
• Notifies RN if patient is off monitor and follows escalation protocol.
• Maintains knowledge of central monitoring station operation.
• Checks high/low alarm settings for telemetry patients each shift.
• Completes shift reports to provide current patient information.
• Coordinates initiation/discontinuation of telemetry with nursing staff.
• Identifies and troubleshoots routine problems with the central monitoring system.
