Job summary

Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, IL, seeks a Patient Care Assistant to support patients in the Telemetry department. This full-time day shift (12-hour shifts with rotating weekends) position works under the direction of an RN to deliver basic nursing care and assist with activities of daily living.

Preferred qualifications include phlebotomy and EKG certifications, BLS (AHA) within 30 days, knowledge of medical terminology, and at least six months of acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living.
• Provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintaining a safe environment under RN supervision.
