Job summary

Holy Family Medical Center in Des Plaines, IL is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support Medical Surgical Telemetry patients. You will assist with activities of daily living, provide basic nursing care, and help maintain a safe environment under RN supervision.

Full-time days, 12-hour shifts. Requires CNA certification in Illinois, high school diploma, BLS within 30 days, plus phlebotomy and EKG certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Illinois approved Certification required.
• Current Phlebotomy certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current EKG certification upon hire, preferred.
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Patient Care Assistant assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to all patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.
