Job summary

Prime Healthcare's Saint Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Telemetry CNA to join our night shift team. This full-time role supports patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring and vital sign observation, working 12-hour shifts from 7:00pm to 7:00am.

The Telemetry CNA will document vitals, monitor cardiac equipment, report changes to RNs, and liaise between patients and the nursing team. Current CNA certification and BLS are required, with acute care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.

Responsibilities

• Measure and document vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, and oxygen saturation).
• Observe patients for changes in condition and report findings to the RN.
• Observe cardiac monitors and report irregularities to nursing staff.
• Ensure telemetry leads and equipment are properly placed and functioning.
• Act as a liaison between patients and the nursing team.

Location: Saint Joseph Medical Center– Kansas City, MO

We are seeking aTelemetryCNA, sometimes referred to as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). The Certified Nursing Assistant in our telemetry unit plays an important role in the care of patients who require continuous monitoring of their heart and vital signs. Our Telemetry units typically care for patients with cardiac conditions, post-surgical needs, or other medical issues requiring close monitoring. Our CNAs provide essential support to patients under close cardiac monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Measure and document vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, and oxygen saturation)
• Observe patients for any changes in condition, such as increased discomfort, difficulty breathing, or changes in mental status, and report findings to the RN
• Observe cardiac monitors and reporting any irregularities to the nursing staff
• Ensure telemetry leads and equipment are properly placed and functioning
• Act as a liaison between patients and the nursing team

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire, required.
• Current BLS within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.
• Minimum six months’ previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred.
