Job summary

Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS seeks a Telemetry Charge Nurse to oversee nursing operations on the telemetry unit during the day shift. This part-time role requires coordinating staff assignments, maintaining patient safety, and ensuring continuous cardiac monitoring.

You will act as clinical lead, manage emergencies, and support both patients and staff while delivering hands-on care when needed. A valid RN license and BCLS are required, with ACLS within 30 days and BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BCLS (AHA) on hire and maintained.
• ACLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Staff coordination based on acuity, experience, and workload.
• Monitor telemetry unit operations for safety and efficiency.
• Provide direct patient care for high-acuity or deteriorating patients.
• Interpret cardiac telemetry strips and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Act as the clinical lead to address issues and allocate resources during shift.

Location: Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS

We are seeking aTelemetry ChargeNurse,sometimes referred to as aTelemetry Unit Charge NurseorTele Charge RN.A Tele Charge Registered Nurseoversees nursing operations onourtelemetry unit, coordinating staff assignments, managing patient care, and ensuring continuous cardiac monitoring is safely conducted. They serve as botha clinical expertand teamleader, handling emergencies,facilitatingcommunication, and supporting both patients and staff.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Staff Coordination:assign nursing staff to patients based on patient acuity, nurse experience, and current workload

• Unit Supervision:monitor overall operations of the telemetry unit during the shift, ensuring work-flowefficiency and patient safety

• Direct Patient Care:provide hands-on care for high-acuity or deteriorating patients when needed, including administering medications and treatments

• Telemetry Monitoring:interpret cardiac telemetry strips,identifiesarrhythmias, andinitiatesappropriate interventionsor escalations
• Problem-Solving:act as the go-to person for clinical issues, staff concerns, or resource shortages during the shift

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

• Current and valid state RN License
• Current BCLS (AHA) upon hire and maintained current.
• Current ACLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintained current.
• Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
