Job summary

Prime Healthcare Services’ Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS is seeking a Telemetry Charge Nurse to oversee the telemetry unit during day shifts. You will coordinate staff, supervise unit operations, and provide direct patient care for high-acuity patients while ensuring continuous cardiac monitoring.

Required qualifications include a current RN license, BCLS, ACLS within 30 days of hire, and a BSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• BCLS (AHA) required on hire
• ACLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire
• BSN preferred

Responsibilities

• Staff coordination based on patient acuity, nurse experience, and current workload
• Unit supervision to ensure workflow efficiency and patient safety
• Direct patient care for high-acuity or deteriorating patients, including medications and treatments
• Telemetry monitoring: interpret cardiac telemetry strips, identify arrhythmias, and initiate appropriate interventions or escalations
• Problem-solving as the go-to person for clinical issues, staff concerns, or resource shortages during the shift

Hours: 7:00am-7:00pm (12-hour shifts)

Location: Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS

We are seeking aTelemetry ChargeNurse,sometimes referred to as aTelemetry Unit Charge NurseorTele Charge RN.A Tele Charge Registered Nurseoversees nursing operations onourtelemetry unit, coordinating staff assignments, managing patient care, and ensuring continuous cardiac monitoring is safely conducted. They serve as botha clinical expertand teamleader, handling emergencies,facilitatingcommunication, and supporting both patients and staff.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Staff Coordination:assign nursing staff to patients based on patient acuity, nurse experience, and current workload

• Unit Supervision:monitor overall operations of the telemetry unit during the shift, ensuring work-flowefficiency and patient safety

• Direct Patient Care:provide hands-on care for high-acuity or deteriorating patients when needed, including administering medications and treatments

• Telemetry Monitoring:interpret cardiac telemetry strips,identifiesarrhythmias, andinitiatesappropriate interventionsor escalations
• Problem-Solving:act as the go-to person for clinical issues, staff concerns, or resource shortages during the shift

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

• Current and valid state RN License
• Current BCLS (AHA) upon hire and maintained current.
• Current ACLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintained current.
• Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
