Job summary

United Infrastructure Ltd is seeking a Field Manager to lead a team of field engineers delivering telecoms maintenance services. You will own performance, safety, quality and customer delivery, coaching engineers and removing barriers to delivery.

You will be responsible for planning resources, monitoring productivity, and providing regular updates to senior management. The role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management and a commitment to high standards of safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading field-based engineering teams in telecoms or critical infrastructure.
• Ability to coach, set expectations and manage underperformance.
• Experience managing KPIs, utilisation, productivity and service delivery.
• Strong health and safety responsibilities and risk management.
• Experience handling absence, wellbeing, capability and conduct matters.
• Excellent planning, organisational and decision-making skills.
• Clear communication and stakeholder management for updates.
• Commercial awareness and understanding of contractual impact.
• Proficiency with field management systems and performance data.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel regularly.

Responsibilities

• Take full managerial ownership of the team’s operational results.
• Maintain regular contact with engineers through one-to-ones, team briefings and field visits.
• Monitor workload, travel, job progress, delays and operational risks.
• Proactively resolve resource conflicts and customer escalations.
• Review service failures and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure health, safety and safe working practices.
• Plan and forecast resource requirements to meet demand.
• Oversee assets, vehicles and equipment for safe, efficient use.
• Build relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Provide evidence-based updates at governance forums.
