Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System in New York seeks a Telecommunications Supervisor to oversee operations for faculty, staff, patients, and families. You will supervise Telephone Operators, coach staff, and ensure timely, high-quality call handling across voice and wireless communications.

Responsibilities include monitoring productivity, managing emergencies, training personnel, and coordinating with helpdesk and network teams to maintain system uptime and service levels.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3 years' experience in telecommunications or related field.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises employees engaged in providing telecommunication services to faculty, staff, patients and other departments.
• Monitors productivity of Telephone Operators and call center.
• Oversees all aspects of the telecommunication functions including telephone systems failures, Message One Alerts and Emergency Preparedness Fire Alerts.
• Handles emergencies effectively and expeditiously. And retrieval.
• Orients and trains subordinate staff regarding policies and procedures to ensure quality standards and services are met. Performs human resources functions including interviewing, selection, performance evaluation, promotion and disciplinary action.
• Assists in the interview process and selection, performance evaluations, promotions and disciplinary actions.
• Monitors service levels and provides recommendations on procedural, operational, and policy changes for the department.
• Responsible for issuing and maintaining pager inventory. Responds to calls from subordinates to direct activities during emergencies.
• Responsible for sending telegrams. Acts as a liaison with helpdesk and network staff to ensure excellent support and operations of the systems
• Maintains directory database and on-call schedules.
• Performs other related duties.
