Job summary

Arcfield in Newport, RI is seeking a seasoned voice telecommunications engineer to design and support carrier-grade systems and cloud-based communications. You will monitor networks, run studies, and maintain documentation to ensure high availability.

The role requires Avaya CM 8+, G450 Gateways, UC product experience, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. Travel up to 5% may be required; strong communication skills and cross-team collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 6–8 years telecom experience.
• Effective communication on technical topics to diverse audiences.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with Avaya Aura CM 8+ and UC products.
• Experience installing, configuring, upgrading, and troubleshooting Avaya G450 Gateways.
• One of ACSA/ACSS/ACIS certifications required.
• CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Cybersecurity configurations and security tools experience.
• Proficient with Visio for documentation and drawings.
• Ability to obtain Secret security clearance; passport preferred.
• Travel up to ~5% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Provide carrier-class telecom engineering practices in system designs.
• Support cloud-based communications systems and 24x7 voice ops.
• Monitor networks and analyze trends for high availability.
• Prepare technical reports and maintain documentation and drawings.
• Evaluate systems and recommend modifications or new equipment.
• Conduct field surveys and develop design criteria; ensure DISA compliance.
• Travel as needed to client sites for installations and upgrades.
