Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking a Technical Specialist 2 (Telecommunications) to design, coordinate, and test telecom infrastructure for diverse projects.

You will work with customers, contractors, and vendors in fast-paced environments, applying NFPA/EIA/TIA standards and BICSI frameworks. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is required for creating construction drawings. Responsibilities include site surveys, bid support, and documentation management, with emphasis on collaboration and quality control

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited university preferred, with a minimum of 6+ years experience in the telecommunications industry OR
• A High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of 8+ years experience in the telecommunications industry.
• Basic understanding of EIA/TIA standards and NFPA Codes.
• Working knowledge of passive (structured cabling systems) and active (PAS, SMS, DAS, AoR, WLAN) communications systems.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and Revit.

Responsibilities

• Work and communicate effectively with customer, general contractor, trades, manufacturers, and telecom staff in a fast-paced environment.
• Interface with client and project team regularly to meet goals and mitigate risk.
• Design and coordinate telecom infrastructure for systems (CCTV, access control, fire alarm, building automation).
• Coordinate Low Voltage Systems (PA, DAS, emergency phones).
• Interface with suppliers and keep up-to-date on technologies and equipment.
• Develop knowledge of NFPA, ANSI/TIA, BICSI standards.
