Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Contract Telecom Broadband Project Manager to lead broadband infrastructure initiatives across New Jersey. This role focuses on pole transfers, make-ready work, joint-use coordination, and OSP construction, coordinating with utilities, engineering partners, and vendors to deliver on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate brings 3+ years in telecom project management, strong Excel and scheduling skills, and familiarity with Sitetracker or NJUNS is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in broadband/telecom/OSP/utility construction project management.
• Experience managing pole transfer, make-ready, joint-use or OSP construction projects.
• Experience coordinating with utility companies and pole owners.
• Experience tracking schedules, milestones, budgets, and deliverables; support invoicing.

Responsibilities

• Manage broadband infrastructure construction projects throughout New Jersey.
• Coordinate utility pole transfer programs and cable replacement initiatives.
• Manage make-ready activities with utility companies and pole owners.
• Oversee joint-use workflows and utility coordination efforts.
• Track NJUNS applications, utility approvals, attachment transfers, and project milestones.
• Drive project execution from planning through completion.
• Coordinate engineering handoffs and ensure construction readiness.
• Track permit approvals, utility approvals, and project schedules.
• Manage contractor assignments, workloads, and production expectations.
• Monitor vendor performance and contractor deliverables.
• Work with utilities to resolve attachment, clearance, transfer, and make-ready issues.
• Maintain project data in Sitetracker, NJUNS, and related systems.
• Coordinate invoicing and contractor billing activities.
• Collaborate with engineering, construction, permitting, utility, and operations teams.
• Escalate delays and risks to leadership and drive issue resolution.
