Job summary

Davey Resource Group, Inc. seeks a Telecommunications Ground Hand to support aerial line construction crews and ground-level operations.

You will assist lineworkers with pole placements, fiber optic installations, site setups, and material handling in diverse outdoor locations. This entry-level role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and the ability to work outdoors across project sites, often traveling between locations in NM and nearby states.

Qualifications

• Experience: telecommunications line construction knowledge or industry training.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions and walk long distances over uneven terrain.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record; comfortable operating company vehicles.
• Ability to learn and operate handheld technology and mobile software.
• Self-motivated, dependable, able to work solo or in a team in field environments.

Responsibilities

• Lineworker Support: pass tools, lower/raise equipment and materials, provide ground support to lineworkers.
• Fixture Installation: assist with installing telecommunication fixtures and conduits/cables.
• Pole & Infrastructure Operations: help place/remove utility poles and backfill ground holes with hand tools.
• Setup & Cleanup: set up and break down work zones, maintain site order and cleanliness.
• Public & Landowner Communication: interact professionally with property owners and the public.
