Job summary

BNSF Railway in Vancouver, WA is seeking a Telecom Maintainer II to manage essential telecommunications systems across the network, enabling safe train movements. The role requires 50%–80% travel to job sites, with on-call duties and union-based shift patterns. Training is provided, and a 120-day probation is standard.

The position is full-time (40 hours/week) with potential for overnight or extended site work, subject to overtime and shift arrangements. Benefits are included.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • CDL class A license required or ability to obtain within 240 days.
  • Must read, write and communicate in English.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
  • Experience coordinating information and schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Install, test, inspect, maintain, repair and troubleshoot communications equipment.
  • Install and maintain fiber optics, cables, towers, antennas, and related sites; install and terminate cabling; tower work may be required.
  • Operate trucks and equipment to support telecom work.
  • Work in a safety-sensitive environment under diverse conditions; follow safety rules and wear PPE.
