Job summary

Ledcor Technical Services in Champaign, IL is seeking a Telecommunications Construction Superintendent to lead daily field operations, ensure on-schedule, on-budget delivery, and uphold safety and quality standards across projects.

You will develop project schedules, supervise field staff and subcontractors, coordinate with crews, and mentor junior personnel while maintaining strong documentation and communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience as a Telecommunications construction Superintendent.
• Experience in aerial and underground fiber installation methods (Plow and HDD).
• Post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline is an asset
• Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and current construction practices
• Effective communication and leadership skills
• Ability to directly supervise craft employees as well as sub-contractors
• Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to anticipate and address issues
• Strong organizational and planning skills

Responsibilities

• Will ensure projects meet approved plans, specifications, and building codes
• Leads the development of Project Quality Plans and Safety Programs, and oversees incident investigations
• Reviews and updates construction schedules, addresses delays, and contributes to project schedules
• Estimates activity durations and materials for complex projects
• Working knowledge of reporting and tracking of financial aspects of the project
• Participates in subcontractor and supplier selection, procurement and negotiations
• Will set priorities and allocate resources as needed for the entire field team
• Provides leadership and mentorship to project staff and Superintendents
