Job summary

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of construction experience as a supervisor or lead hand.
• Knowledge of underground fiber installation methods is a plus.
• Two-year college, trade, or technical diploma preferred.
• Understanding of construction practices, costs, and budgets.
• Ability to plan and manage project schedules and develop solutions for moderate situations.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Military experience equivalent to 12N Horizontal Construction Engineer and/or 12H Construction Engineering Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all construction activities comply with approved plans, specifications, shop drawings, building codes, and established quality standards including oversight of PQP requirements and testing.
• Champion site safety by enforcing corporate and regulatory standards, leading safety meetings, and supporting development of the Project Specific Safety Program (PSSP).
• Monitor short-term schedules, estimate activity durations and material needs, and track progress to meet project milestones and completion dates.
• Direct field staff and coordinate labor, equipment, and subcontractor resources to achieve project goals related to safety, schedule, and quality.
• Supervise craft workers and subcontractors, providing guidance and maintaining accountability for performance and site expectations.
• Manage procurement tasks such as preparing purchase requisitions and reviewing supplier and subcontractor invoices.
