Job summary

Race Communications is seeking a Field Technician Lead in Tehachapi, CA. You will supervise a team of field technicians performing installation, maintenance, and repair of telecom equipment at our designated worksites.

Expect safety-first operations, 24/7 readiness for outages, and frequent travel to Race offices. Qualified candidates have 5+ years in telecom field operations with leadership experience, a valid CA license, and eligibility to work in the US.

Qualifications

• US Employment eligibility without sponsorship
• Minimum age 21 years
• California driver license required
• 5+ years telecom field operations with 2+ years in leadership
• Shift Tue–Sat 10:00–19:00
• Willing to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime

Responsibilities

• Lead field technician team and provide technical guidance
• Plan and prioritize field operations to meet timelines and SLAs
• Oversee installation and commissioning of telecom equipment
• Supervise troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs of network gear
• Conduct quality checks to ensure standards and customer satisfaction
• Train and mentor technicians and stay updated on telecom tech
• Uphold safety policies and promote safe work culture
• Maintain accurate activity, inventory, and service reports
• Interact with customers professionally and provide technical assistance
• Manage equipment inventory and tools for field ops
• Oversee equipment operations and site maintenance, including bucket truck usage
• Coordinate travel and scheduling; support after-hours emergencies
• Adhere to safety protocols and company policies
