Job summary

Race Communications is seeking a Field Technician 3 in Lancaster, CA to install, maintain, and troubleshoot telecom equipment and fiber networks. You will work at a designated field site with frequent travel to other Race offices and locations, ensuring reliable connectivity for customers.

The role requires 12 months of field tech experience, a valid driver's license, and strong communication in English; Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Eligibility for US employment without sponsorship.
• Minimum age 21.
• Valid driver's license with DMV check.
• HS diploma or GED preferred.
• At least 12 months of field technician experience.
• Understanding of fiber optic networks, basic telecom, and video.
• Basic knowledge of Apple iPad.
• English communication required; Spanish desirable.

Responsibilities

• Fiber optic cable installation and maintenance: residential installs and troubleshooting of internet, telecom, and video.
• Respond to support issues with on-site and remote troubleshooting.
• Resolve LAN/WAN/Internet/Telecom/Video issues.
• Infrastructure operations: low voltage/fiber wiring, remote assistance, complete work orders.
• Ticket management: gather info, use CRM, complete work orders, dispatch and manage inquiries.
• Training and mentorship: assist training of new technicians.
• Equipment operations and site maintenance: operate bucket truck, climb poles, manage traffic control, follow weight limits.
• Vehicle maintenance and travel: pre/post trip checks, travel between sites, overtime may be required.
• Safety: hazard awareness, signed safety tools, incident reporting.
• Other duties as assigned.
