Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions in Rock Hill, SC seeks a Telecommunications Design Engineer to support complex infrastructure projects in critical facilities. The role suits early- to mid-career engineers with hands-on experience in structured cabling design and multidisciplinary coordination for enterprise environments.

The successful candidate will work fully on site, develop detailed designs using AutoCAD or REVIT, and coordinate with Data/Wireless Networking, Security, Mechanical, and Electrical

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 2+ years in telecom structured cabling.
• Experience with inside/outside plant pathways and cabling components.
• Attention to detail; able to work independently and in a team.
• Willingness to expanding knowledge to new systems and tech.
• Basic understanding of NFPA codes and TIA standards.
• Ability to pass extensive background check.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Develop, identify, and track project requirements through design lifecycle.
• Coordinate cabling, topology, and device locations with multiple teams.
• Prepare detailed telecommunications space plans with Architecture and MEP.
• Create pathway designs and perform fill calculations; BIM coordination.
• Produce construction drawings using AutoCAD/REVIT per specs.
• Develop technical specs and BOMs to meet project needs.
• Follow QC processes to ensure constructible engineering deliverables.
• Perform site surveys and generate field reports with solutions.
