Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions in Ashburn, VA seeks a Design Engineer to join a design services company for mission critical systems. The role focuses on developing and coordinating design requirements, telecom pathway designs, and BIM-enabled drawings to support inside and outside plant cabling.

A BS in Engineering and 2+ years of experience are required. The position offers a competitive salary range and comprehensive benefits, with eligibility for an active security clearance in the future.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience.
• Proficiency with 2D design using AutoCAD or Revit.
• Experience in structured cabling projects including ISP and OSP.
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an active security clearance in the future.

Responsibilities

• Develop, identify, coordinate, and track project requirements.
• Coordinate telecommunications pathway designs to support inside and outside plant cabling infrastructure (fill calculations, BIM, etc).
• Identify, write, and respond to RFIs.
• Produce coordinated design and construction drawings in AutoCAD or Revit based on project requirements.
• Create and manage cable run lists and system labeling.
• Identify products, create bill of materials, and develop.
