Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a Telecommunications Design Engineer for on-site work in Charleston, SC. You will design and coordinate structured cabling, spaces, and pathways for complex data and telecom systems, collaborating with Architecture, MEP, and Electronic Systems teams.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering with 2+ years in telecom cabling, CAD/BIM experience (AutoCAD or REVIT), and willingness to travel up to 10%. Competitive salary and full benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an applicable Engineering discipline with 2+ years of experience in telecommunications structured cabling.
• Experience with inside and outside plant pathways, cabling systems, components, testing, and design.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% and pass an extensive background investigation.
• Familiarity with CAD/BIM platforms such as AutoCAD or REVIT and TIA/NFPA knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop, identify, coordinate, and track project requirements through the design lifecycle.
• Coordinate backbone and inter-rack cabling, work area outlets, media, and device locations with stakeholders.
• Prepare detailed telecommunications space plans and pathway designs with Architecture, MEP, and Electronic Systems teams.
• Produce coordinated construction drawings using AutoCAD and/or REVIT per project specs.
• Create Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Product Data deliverables to meet system requirements.
• Apply QC processes to ensure constructible engineering deliverables.
