Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Telecommunications Design Engineer for complex infrastructure projects in critical facilities. This full-time, on-site role is based in Charleston, SC, requiring hands-on experience in structured cabling design and telecommunications infrastructure for enterprise environments.

The role involves coordinating design across Architecture, MEP, and Electronic Systems teams, producing AutoCAD/Revit drawings, BOMs, and RFI responses, with up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an applicable Engineering discipline with 2+ years in the telecommunications structured cabling industry.
• Experience with inside and outside plant pathways, cabling systems, components, testing, and design.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% as required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, identify, coordinate, and track project requirements throughout the design lifecycle.
• Coordinate communication connectivity requirements including backbone and inter‑rack cabling, work area outlet types, cabling media and connector types, system topology, and device locations with multiple stakeholders.
• Coordinate detailed telecommunications space plans in collaboration with Architecture, MEP, and Electronic Systems teams.

Education
