Job summary

DLR Group seeks a Telecommunications Designer to lead design of telecommunications cabling infrastructure across diverse building types. This role can be based in Atlanta or other listed cities, collaborating with in-house architects, engineers, and IT staff from schematic through construction administration.

The position requires 5+ years in telecom design, RCDD certification, and strong BIM (Revit) and AutoCAD skills, plus proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the evaluation/design of telecommunications cabling infrastructure systems.
• Experience with Building Construction documents.
• Experience with BIM (Revit) and AutoCAD workflows.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to travel for meetings, site visits, and interviews.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing project objectives and documentation policies.
• Meet with client IT staff to determine requirements and goals.
• Develop telecommunications cabling infrastructure designs from concept through construction.
• Prepare telecom cabling infrastructure plans and specifications.
• Prepare detailed telecom systems reports and narratives.
• Coordinate telecom design with architecture, structure, mechanical, electrical, and other disciplines.
