Job summary

DLR Group seeks a Telecommunications Designer to design and document telecommunications cabling infrastructures from schematic through construction administration for diverse building types. You will develop plans, specs, and detailed reports while coordinating with architects, engineers, and other disciplines.

The role supports multiple city locations and involves travel for meetings, site visits, and interviews. A strong BIM/AutoCAD background and IT coordination experience are essential.

Qualifications

• RCDD certification through BICSI is required.
• At least 5 years of experience in evaluating/designing telecommunications cabling infrastructure systems.
• Experience with Building Construction documents.
• Experience with BIM workflows (Revit) and AutoCAD.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work within a multi-disciplined environment and meet multiple deadlines.
• Ability to design telecom plans and specs with architects/engineers.
• Willingness to travel for meetings, site visits, and interviews.
• Proficiency with a PDF markup tool (Bluebeam).

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing project objectives, goals, and documentation policies.
• Meet with client IT staff to determine project requirements and goals.
• Develop telecommunications cabling infrastructure designs from concept through construction.
• Prepare telecom cabling infrastructure plans and specifications.
• Prepare detailed telecom systems reports and narratives.
• Coordinate telecom design requirements with architecture, structure, mechanical, electrical, and other disciplines.
