Job summary

Ledcor Technical Services in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Superintendent to lead daily field operations, ensuring projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

You will execute project plans, uphold site safety and quality control, and manage field staff, contractors, and tradespeople. Strong leadership and planning skills are essential in this site-based role with significant travel.

Qualifications

1–3 years in a Telecommunications construction Superintendent role.
Experience with aerial and underground fiber installation (plow and HDD) is a plus.
Post-secondary education in Construction or Engineering is an asset.
Knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and current construction practices.
Effective communication and leadership skills.
Ability to directly supervise craft employees as well as sub-contractors.
Strong organizational and planning skills.

Responsibilities

Ensure projects meet approved plans, specifications, and building codes.
Leads the development of Project Quality Plans and Safety Programs, and oversees incident investigations.
Reviews and updates construction schedules, addresses delays, and contributes to project schedules.
Estimates activity durations and materials for complex projects.
Working knowledge of reporting and tracking of financial aspects of the project.
Participates in subcontractor and supplier selection, procurement and negotiations.
Will set priorities and allocate resources as needed for the entire field team.
Provides leadership and mentorship to project staff and Superintendents.
