Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada is seeking an Education Specialist to oversee teen programs at assigned Clubhouses. You will plan and implement activities, collaborate with the Programs team, and ensure grant compliance and safe operations.

You may mentor members and assist with Clubhouse supervision when leaders are absent. This role requires strong communication, organization, and leadership in a dynamic youth services environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization working with middle school and/or high school aged youth.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft and/or Google suite of productivity applications (Word, Excel, Forms, Outlook, etc.).
• Ability to deal effectively with multi-age groups of children, small groups of children in activities and free play, and large groups of children in organized activities.
• Ability to meet deadlines with time constraints and handle multiple demands.
• Strong interpersonal and team leadership skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with the public, families, Youth Development Professionals, and members.
• Demonstrated ability to take responsibility for the safety, well-being, and output of others.

Responsibilities

• Plan, create, and oversee the administration of teen programs and activities that support Youth Development Outcomes.
• Collaborate with the Programs team to align teen program objectives with organizational goals.
• Maintain grant compliance of all teens and assigned grant programming.
• Ensure members participate across program areas with respect, recognition, instruction, and feedback.
• Demonstrate leadership with members, parents/guardians, youth professionals, and visitors to ensure a safe environment.
• Evaluate all teen programs to address gender and cultural diversity.
• Track program requirements, deadlines, and metrics; ensure staff and members understand programs.
• Mentor and model behavior, set standards, and enforce consequences per guidelines; communicate with guardians if needed.
• Promote programs, events, and field trips to members and families.
• Assist with member retention and recruitment through outreach.
• Oversee cleanliness and safe operation of Clubhouse areas and grounds.
• Collaborate with staff to support overall Clubhouse operations.
