Job summary

YMCA of Metro Atlanta is seeking a Teen Counselor responsible for planning and organizing program activities at the Y Branch. In this role, you will ensure the safety of youth and teens, leading events and supervising participants under the guidance of the Youth Development Director.

The ideal candidate will have experience with school-age youth, strong communication skills, and the ability to maintain a safe environment. This is a grant funded position offering an opportunity to make a positive impact in the community.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• 2–4 years prior experience working with school-age youth or teens in a group setting.
• Evidence of successful completion of CPR/First Aid/BLS training.
• Complete Youth and Teen Safety Training prior to work.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organize program activities at the Y Branch.
• Lead and supervise participants within the program.
• Instruct lessons according to YMCA guidelines.
• Maintain incident/accident paperwork.

Skills

Excellent verbal/written communication skills

Experience with Microsoft Office software

Education

High School Degree
