Job summary

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Teen Program Coordinator to assist Teen Program Directors with planning, organizing and delivering YMCA teen programs at the Tom Taylor Family YMCA in Gig Harbor, WA. This part-time role supports youth development and community well-being.

You will plan events, create lesson plans, mentor teen participants and help maintain high-quality, safe programming. Prior experience with teens and diverse populations is valued, along with relevant

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent (preferred).
  • 1–2 years related experience as a coordinator of people or activities (preferred).
  • Ability to use computer and typical business software and office machines.
  • Positive attitude and previous experience with teens and diverse populations.
  • Demonstrated skills in customer service, public relations, organizational skills, communications, supervision, and file maintenance.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certifications (preferred).
  • Background and reference checks per WA State Fair Chance Act.
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusive environment.
  • Online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day and other trainings as required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning part-time staff interviews, events, trainings, and meetings.

  • Provide resources and new programming ideas for Late Nite, teen events and programs.
  • Support leadership, recognition, and mentoring to instructors and teens in programming.
  • Visit classes to ensure safety, progress and fun in operations.
  • Support teen behavior management and interest alignment.
  • Assist with staff and program evaluations and keep director informed of progress and areas for improvement.

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Teen Program Coordinatorto join our team.

The YMCAfocuses on empowering people in all forms, by improving health and well-being and inspiring action in and across our neighborhoods.

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading non-profit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

As a Teen Program Coordinator you will be responsible for assisting and supporting Teen Program Directors with planning, organizing, and the delivery of various YMCA teen programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in planning part time staff interviews, events, trainings, and meetings.
  • Create lesson plans and curriculum to maintain quality programming.
  • Provide resources and new programming ideas for Late Nite, teen events and programs.
  • Provide support in the leadership, recognition, and mentoring to all instructors and teens in programming.
  • Visit classes to maintain high quality operations to include safety, progress and fun.
  • Provide support and assistance related to working with teen’s behaviors and interests.
  • Assist with staff and program evaluations keeping director informed of program success and areas in need of improvement.

  • Ability to use computer and typical business software and office machines.

Wages:$17.74 to $19.74 per hour, depending on qualifications

Hours: Part-Time,Up to 25 hours per week
