Qualifications

• Two years’ work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people, with an additional two years’ experience at the director level, or equivalent experience.
• Thorough knowledge of recreation and youth development theory.
• Demonstrated ability in personnel supervision, facilities management, and the recruitment and retention of key personnel.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Be able to tell the story of the Club in external and small group settings.
• Ability to recruit, train, supervise, and motivate staff.
• Ability to deal effectively with members’ discipline problems.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead after-school, school day out and summer programs at BGCT’s Teen Center that align with BGCA goals.
• Provide leadership and coaching to group leaders and attend staff meetings.
• Ensure environment conducive to Youth Development Outcomes and maintain safety of facilities and equipment.
• Conduct program evaluations and analyze member needs.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians; monitor grant-funded programs.
