Job description

The Network Engineer supports the technology systems that keep our business operating at the Central Support Office and across more than 50 apartment communities. Networking is the primary focus, but this is not a narrow technical role. The right person must be willing to troubleshoot, learn, travel, and help solve technology problems wherever they exist.

We are hiring for culture first and skillset second. The ideal candidate has a genuine passion for technology, strong work ethic, curiosity, and the desire to become a better professional. Technical skills matter, but ownership, dependability, communication, and willingness to learn are what will determine long-term success.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

This role is built for someone who enjoys solving problems and wants more than a basic support job. We are especially interested in candidates who have spent 1-2 years in a Managed Service Provider environment, have been exposed to many different technologies, and feel ready for a bigger challenge.

The best fit is a jack-of-all-trades technology professional who is hungry, dependable, and willing to work hard to grow. They do not need to know everything on day one, but they must be curious, accountable, and comfortable figuring things out.

CORE EXPECTATIONS
  • Passion for technology and continuous learning.
  • Strong troubleshooting mindset and willingness to dig into problems.
  • Dependable, punctual, and accountable in a high-expectation environment.
  • Comfortable supporting both corporate office needs and property-level technology needs.
  • Willing to travel to communities and company locations approximately 2-4 days per month.
  • Able to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical associates.
  • Willing to help outside a narrow job description when the business needs it.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Network Engineer helps maintain reliable internet, wireless, firewall, and network connectivity across the organization. This includes troubleshooting outages, improving reliability, supporting new projects, working with vendors, documenting standards, and helping prevent repeat issues.

The role also supports broader technology infrastructure when needed. A candidate with MSP experience is attractive because they are often used to moving quickly, handling different systems, supporting different users, and solving unfamiliar problems without needing perfect instructions.

PREFERRED BACKGROUND
  • 1-2 years of Managed Service Provider experience strongly encouraged.
  • Exposure to networking, wireless systems, firewalls, end-user support, vendors, and business technology systems.
  • Experience supporting multiple locations, customers, departments, or technology environments.
  • Comfortable learning new systems and becoming more valuable over time.
