Job summary

CHENEGA RELIABLE SERVICES, LLC at JBSA Lackland AFB, TX seeks an Intellectual Property (IP) Manager and Agreements Specialist to protect DoD IP, facilitate technology transfer, and negotiate collaborative agreements with academia, nonprofits, and industry. You will educate stakeholders and manage program data per DoD policies.

You will lead patent submissions, work with inventors on disclosure packages, and coordinate with legal teams to resolve issues, while developing and delivering IP

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in medical technology, transfer, transition and/or commercialization.
• Minimum five (5) years specialized experience in technology transfer, transition, and/or commercialization.
• Minimum eight (8) years' experience providing effective technology transfer in support of IP protection, patenting, licensing, and business development for commercialization and marketing of finished medical products.
• Minimum three (3) years analytical market experience identifying trends, patterns, and insights in the medical product industry.
• Demonstrated industry competence and a record of facilitating the planning, design, and development of governing policies and programmatic issues.
• Successfully pass background and drug screening

Responsibilities

• Review medical research proposals and identify IP requiring protection through patents, trademarks, or copyrights.
• Work with inventors to develop invention disclosure packages and submit required documentation.
• Oversee patent submission processing and coordinate with legal offices and external patent attorneys.
• Assist researchers in protecting DoD IP before publication and conduct licensing audits.
• Develop, negotiate, and execute collaborative research agreements (CRADAs, MTAs, MOAs, MOUs, CTAs, PIAs, EPAs, Joint Ownership Agreements).
• Collaborate to market DoD patents and facilitate commercial development and fielded medical capabilities.
• Establish Patent License Agreements and review licensing agreements for fees and royalties.
• Perform technology transfer and transition services per DoD/USAFA policies.
• Develop and deliver training on IP management, patent filing, licensing and transfer processes.
• Serve as primary tech transfer resource among the 59th Medical Wing and external entities.
• Provide project management support for DoD/USAF meetings and advisory boards.
• Manage databases tracking patents, agreements and royalties.
