Job summary

Cec Facilities Llc is seeking a Technology Technician to support installation, maintenance, and repair of structured cabling systems on construction projects. You will lay out, cut, bend, and install copper and fiber optic cabling, assemble racks and cabinets, and operate testing equipment under supervision.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years of on-the-job communications experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass background checks.

Position SummaryAs a Technology Technician, you will work under the guidance of a Foreman or Superintendent. Your main responsibilities will be providing skilled maintenance, installations, additions, and/or repair and troubleshooting of structured cabling systems, associated materials and equipment on any type of project. This is a safety sensitive position.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesLay out work and preps materials for installation.Perform overhead and underground layout and rough-in.Terminate all types of copper cable including coaxial, multi-pair and Category 3 through 6.Measure, cut, bend, assemble and install cable tray using measuring devices and hand tools.Assemble and install relay racks, network cabinets, wall fields and associated components.Perform fiber optic cable installation and terminations of all types.Perform structured cabling installations in new and existing facilities following diagrams, schematics, or blueprints.Correctly set up and operate copper and fiber optic testing equipment.Troubleshoot, repair, adjust, and resolve problems in structured cabling systems.Operate any power and hand tools and equipment necessary to perform all associated tasks.Perform other project related duties and assignments as instructed by supervisor.Other Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective processes, completion of projects and smooth operation of department.Education and ExperienceMinimum 3 years of experience of on the job communications work experience as well as demonstrated skills at the Technician level.High School Graduate, GED, or equivalent.Required Skills, Knowledge, and AbilitiesMust have a current Drivers License and reliable transportation.Must meet attendance standards and comply with late/absence notification procedures.Must be able to pass drug and background check.Work EnvironmentThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision to discern color coded wires, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Possess good hearing, normal or corrected.Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest) at all times.Must be able to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required and night shifts, as needed. This position requires flexible work hours.
