Job summary

Sussex County Vocational Technical School District seeks a Technology Specialist (Level 1) for the second shift at Sussex Technical High School. The role reports to the Technology Supervisor and starts as soon as mutually agreeable.

This eleven-month position requires installing and configuring software and hardware, supporting staff and students, and handling hardware repairs. The schedule is Monday-Thursday 12:30–8:00 pm, Friday 8:00 am–3:30 pm, with changes when students are not in session.

Qualifications

• Experience in installing and configuring software in Apple OS and Windows OS environments.
• Experience in installing and troubleshooting hardware in Apple OS and Windows OS environments.
• Experience with Audio/Video Hardware/Software in Apple OS and Windows OS environments.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure software and hardware systems.
• Repair, service, test, and troubleshoot equipment.
• Provide operational IT support to staff and students.
• Handle all forms of computer hardware repairs.
• Troubleshoot software and run diagnostics.
• Prepare new and refurbished computers.
• Complete technology requests in the database.
• Collaborate with students and staff of all ages.
• Communicate effectively with the Technology Coordinator.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the administration.

Performance Responsibilities:

• Install and configure software and hardware systems
• Possess the ability to repair, service, test, and troubleshoot equipment
• Offer operational support to the system as well as assist employees in the organization in matters related to Information Technology
• Responsible for all forms of computer hardware repair
• Software troubleshoot and diagnostics
• New and refurbished computers preparation
• Complete technology requests as they are assigned in the database
• Ability to work with students and staff of all ages (Sussex Tech High School and Sussex Tech Adult Education)
• Effectively communicates/collaborates with the Technology Coordinator
• Performs other duties as may be assigned by the administration

Terms of Employment:

Eleven (11) month position.

Hours of Employment:

Monday through Thursday- 12:30 - 8:00 pm; Fridays- 8:00am - 3:30pm. Hours are subject to change during times students are not in session.

Salary and Benefits:

Pension and benefit eligible position. Salary commensurate with experience according to state and local salary schedules. Salary Range- $46,900 - $63,000
