Sussex County Vocational Technical School District is seeking a Substitute Custodian at Sussex Technical High School to support the night custodian lead and maintain a clean, safe environment.

The position requires a high school diploma, a flexible schedule, and the ability to stand for long periods and lift 50+ lbs. Shifts run 8am-4pm or 3pm-11pm. Employment is at-will and non-benefit eligible.

Starting Date: As soon as mutually agreeable

Qualifications:

• Minimum education of High School diploma required.
• Previous experience working in field of maintenance and/or cleaning preferred.
• Flexible schedule with ability to work on short notice.
• Must be able to complete essential job functions including but not limited to:
• Stand for long periods of time.
• Lift more than 50 lbs.
• Work in elevated or confined spaces.

Performance Responsibilities:

• Clean assigned area in the school and coordinate with night custodian lead.
• Follow instructions and support night custodian team as assigned.
• Collaborate with other custodians to ensure that all tasks are completed.
• Follow all school policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Terms of Employment: At-will position. Substitutes are not employees of the school district but rather work on a day-to-day basis as needed.

Salary and Benefits: Non-benefit eligible position. Compensation is recorded in a half-days or full-days.Hours are 8am-4pmor 3pm-11pm. Substitute custodians earn a daily rate of: $156.00/day or $19.50/hr.
