Job summary

Cumberland Valley School District is seeking a Technology Support Specialist II for a 12-month, full-time role focused on maintaining and supporting district computers, networks, and peripherals at building and district levels.

The ideal candidate has a College/Technical School degree or 3 years of network experience, with preference for end-user support and familiarity with Windows, macOS and Google environments.

Qualifications

• College/Technical School degree and/or three years experience as a computer network specialist.
• Experience supporting end users is preferred.
• Applicant must meet background clearance requirements as part of employment.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and upgrade OS and software using standard business packages.
• Assemble, configure and inventory computers, servers, and peripherals.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, email, network and peripheral issues.
• Assist users to resolve problems with equipment and software.
• Operate and install sound system and AV equipment; maintain phone/voicemail systems.
• Organize inventory and assignment of computer hardware and software.

Position Details

A 12 month, Full Time (8 hours per day), Technology Support Specialist II position is available.

The successful candidate will maintain and support computers, peripherals, and networks on a building level and district basis. A College/Technical School degree is required and/or three years experience as a specialist in a computer network environment. Experience supporting end users is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and upgrade operating systems and software, using standard business and administrative packages.
• Install, assemble, configure and inventory computers, monitors, network infrastructure such as switches, access points and servers and peripherals such as printers, scanners and related hardware.
• Pull cables and rewires or direct the rewiring of cables as required for new installations and office reconfiguration.
• Troubleshoot problems with computer systems, including troubleshooting hardware and software, e-mail, network and peripheral equipment problems; make repairs and corrections where required.
• Act as a technical resource in assisting users to resolve problems with equipment and software.
• Operate, troubleshoot and install sound system and audio-visual equipment.
• Maintain and configure district phone and voicemail systems.
• Organize the inventory, storage, handling and assignment of computer hardware, software and peripherals related to assigned buildings.
