Job summary

McAllen ISD is seeking a Technology Services Project Specialist to lead technology projects and remove obstacles to instructional use of technology across the district. The role emphasizes project management, research, hardware/software implementations, and end-user support for teachers and staff.

Responsibilities include coordinating staff, developing communication plans, delivering training, and ensuring timely, high-quality technology solutions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; technology certifications preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or 8 years tech experience in lieu of degree required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to independently solve problems with a plan-deploy-evaluate cycle.
• Knowledge of technology devices and software, preferably in a K-12 environment.
• Aptitude for troubleshooting hardware and software.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of assigned technology services projects and define high-quality results.
• Collaborate with district campuses and departments to implement effective solutions.
• Coordinate allocation of technology staff to support projects.
• Develop communication plans using multiple mediums.
• Provide excellent customer service to district users on technology solutions.
• Develop and implement training plans for users during and after deployment.
• Coordinate with vendors to deliver high-quality project results.
• Document processes to ensure replication of the project workflow.
• Update training for all hardware, software, and support solutions.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking and wireless issues with speed.
