Job summary

BDO USA, LLP in California is seeking an Technology Risk Assurance Intern to support problem solving and fact-finding while learning from experienced team members in a dynamic client environment.

You will assist in IS audit work, document and test controls, and participate in SOX-related reviews, with opportunities to build relationships with client personnel and gain hands-on experience. This internship also exposes you to ERP applications and Microsoft Office tools.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
• Pursuing a Masters in Information Systems or another relevant advanced degree is preferred.
• Past leadership experience or internship/work-study in information systems auditing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Documents and tests application and automated controls on a wide range of software packages.
• Assists in the preparation of audit reports and recommendations for IS audit work performed.
• Participates in the review of internal controls based on Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements.
• Develops and maintains relationships with client personnel and management.
• Conducts client interviews to obtain relevant information for non-complex clients.
• Performs walkthroughs of client controls.
• Documents controls, tests performed and results.
• Prepares workpapers in the required format.
• Applies IS audit principles and guidelines to non-complex client environments.
