Job summary

BDO is seeking an Assurance Intern for Summer 2027 in San Jose, CA. You will assist in problem solving, test application and automated controls, and participate in IS audit work under the guidance of experienced team members to gain hands‑on experience.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a degree in Accounting, Computer Science, or Information Systems, with strong written and verbal communication, a collaborative mindset, and a willingness to learn and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
• Pursuing a Masters in Information Systems or related advanced degree preferred.
• Experience with IS auditing or operational auditing preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Documents and tests application and automated controls on a wide range of software application packages.
• Assists in the preparation of audit reports and recommendations associated with IS audit work performed.
• Participates in the review of internal controls based on Sarbanes‑Oxley Act requirements.
• Develops and maintains relationships with client personnel and management.
• Conducts client interviews to obtain relevant information for non‑complex clients.
• Performs walkthroughs of client controls.
• Documents controls, tests performed and results.
• Prepares workpapers in the required format.
• Applies IS audit principles and guidelines to non‑complex client environment.
• Other duties as required.
