Job summary

Citi in Irving, TX is seeking a Technology Product Owner for the Controls Technology division. You will bridge business needs and engineering, translating complex risk and control requirements into a prioritized backlog of epics and user stories, providing clarity for sprint execution in a fast-paced, global financial environment.

You will own the backlog, collaborate with stakeholders and UX, define the solution, ensure clear acceptance criteria and high-quality demos, and track post-launch

Qualifications

• 8+ years in a technology-centric role within financial services
• 5+ years as a dedicated Product Owner in Agile/Scrum
• Deep domain expertise in Risk and Controls or Regulatory functions
• Strong Agile product management including backlog, user stories and ceremonies
• Technical fluency with ability to discuss feasibility with engineering teams
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; MBA a plus

Responsibilities

• Own, refine, and prioritize the product backlog for at least two sprints ahead
• Translate complex requirements into Epics, User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria
• Provide clarity during sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and development cycles
• Elicit, analyze, and document requirements with business stakeholders
• Demonstrate new functionality to stakeholders and gather feedback
• Track product performance post-launch to inform future investments
• Collaborate with business users, engineering, UX, and other tech partners
• Lead agile ceremonies and manage cross-team dependencies and risks
• Communicate priorities, risks, and delivery status to leadership
• Align on OKRs to ensure team focus on risk-related outcomes
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate analysis and improve documentation
• Develop SME knowledge of assigned Controls Technology modules
