Job summary

Ball State University in Muncie, IN seeks a Technology Advisor to support campus technology procurement and collaboration across departments. You'll research, propose, and procure tech solutions, coordinate vendor relationships, and guide technology evolution in alignment with university goals.

Work with IT leadership, campus partners, and budget personnel to manage orders, timelines, contracts, and security documentation such as ISO 27001/SOC 2 reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology.
• At least two years of experience in technology procurement or vendor relations.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong customer service mindset.
• Ability to coordinate with IT leadership and campus partners on technology initiatives.
• Familiarity with security documentation such as ISO 27001 and/or SOC 2 reports.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the annual College Technology Plans with Deans, Associate Deans and staff; ensure technology meets university standards and pricing.
• Serve as a technology advisor to campus departments and stay current with computer technologies.
• Collaborate with IT Helpdesk and Desktop Support on orders, scheduling, and installation timelines.
• Coordinate vendor engagements, procurements, and RFx activities; manage timelines and pricing.
• Negotiate vendor pricing and contracts; maintain relationships with external vendors and IT leadership.
