Job summary

ATI Specialty Materials is seeking a Technology Intern to work on real-world manufacturing challenges. You will apply Materials Science and Engineering knowledge to investigate defects, analyze data, and monitor processing to identify trends and support improvements.

You will collaborate with plant teams, communicate findings, and gain hands-on experience in process optimization within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Materials Science & Engineering or related discipline.
Interest in working in a manufacturing environment.
Understanding of fundamental materials science and metallurgy concepts.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to review and interpret technical and process data.
Strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Investigate material defects throughout the plant and recommend process changes to reduce defect occurrence.
Analyze mechanical and metallography data against processing history to identify trends.
Observe and monitor experimental material lots to measure improvements.
Apply materials science principles to support manufacturing process improvements.
Collaborate with technical and plant personnel to communicate findings and develop solutions.
