Job summary

Dallas County seeks a senior IT leader to oversee large, cross-functional teams and drive strategic IT initiatives across Applications, Infrastructure, Network, Databases, Data, Cloud, and Security. This role ensures reliable IT services, governance, and alignment with the County’s long-term objectives, while managing exempt staff.

The role supports Law Enforcement Agency operations, providing leadership for IT services and business continuity in support of public safety.

Qualifications

• Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Business, or related field.
• Six years of IT experience with at least three in a supervisory role.
• Government IT experience preferred; IT governance and security knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Directs large IT teams delivering enterprise-wide services across Applications, Infrastructure, Network, and Cloud.
• Drives incident response, system availability, and performance improvements against SLAs.
• Leads IT governance, risk management, and security compliance programs.
• Partners with Sheriff’s Office and County stakeholders to translate needs into technology solutions.
• Oversees budgets, resource planning, vendor management, and project roadmaps.
