Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of on-the-job communications work experience and demonstrated Skills at the Technician level.
• High School Graduate, GED, or equivalent.
• Must have a current Drivers License and reliable transportation.
• Must meet attendance standards and comply with late/absence notification procedures.
• Must be able to pass drug and background check.

Responsibilities

• Lay out work and prep materials for installation.
• Perform overhead and underground layout and rough-in.
• Terminate all types of copper cable including coaxial, multi-pair and Category 3 through 6.
• Measure, cut, bend, assemble and install cable tray using measuring devices and hand tools.
• Assemble and install relay racks, network cabinets, wall fields and associated components.
• Perform fiber optic cable installation and terminations of all types.
• Perform structured cabling installations in new and existing facilities following diagrams, schematics, or blueprints.
• Correctly set up and operate copper and fiber testing equipment.
• Troubleshoot, repair, adjust, and resolve problems in structured cabling systems.
• Operate any power and hand tools and equipment necessary to perform all associated tasks.
• Perform other project related duties and assignments as instructed by supervisor.
