Job summary

Bowman Williams is seeking a Technology Alignment Engineer (TAE) for our NYC-area hybrid role. You’ll audit client environments, review networks, servers and Microsoft stacks, and drive proactive improvements across documentation, standards and runbooks.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in MSP infrastructure, strong troubleshooting, and experience with IT Glue. Weekly client-site travel is required; this role supports cross-team collaboration and strategic client guidance.

Qualifications

Technology Alignment Engineer (TAE) – MSP

Location: Hybrid – Manhattan, New York

Client Travel: Weekly client-site visits throughout the Valley / Southern California

For this opportunity, you’ll be joining an established NYC Based Managed Service Provider focused on modern infrastructure, Microsoft technologies, AI integration, and long-term client strategy. This is a people-first MSP that emphasizes proactive technology management rather than constant reactive ticket churn.

The Technology Alignment Engineer is designed for an experienced MSP Systems/Infrastructure Engineer who wants to move into a more proactive and consultative position while remaining technical. You’ll become deeply familiar with assigned client environments, identify technical gaps and risks, improve standards, and help clients maintain stable, secure, well-documented infrastructure.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Proactively audit and assess client technology environments
• Review LAN/WAN, servers, endpoints, Microsoft environments, and security configurations
• Benchmark environments against MSP and industry technical standards
• Identify infrastructure gaps, risks, and technical misalignments before they become support issues
• Perform root-cause analysis to help reduce recurring tickets and improve environment stability
• Lead scheduled client-facing technology/service reviewsDevelop technical recommendations and explain the business impact of identified issues
• Maintain client scorecards, checklists, and technology standards
• Build and maintain IT Glue / SharePoint documentation
• Create client runbooks, SOPs, and technical documentation
• Work alongside internal engineering, support, and client strategy teams
• Use Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Studio to improve documentation, summarize findings, and automate workflows

Technical Background

We’re looking for someone with:
