Job summary

Bowman Williams is seeking a Technology Alignment Engineer (TAE) for our NYC-area hybrid role. You’ll audit client environments, review networks, servers and Microsoft stacks, and drive proactive improvements across documentation, standards and runbooks.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in MSP infrastructure, strong troubleshooting, and experience with IT Glue. Weekly client-site travel is required; this role supports cross-team collaboration and strategic client guidance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on MSP infrastructure experience.
• Strong LAN/WAN and networking knowledge.
• Windows Server and infrastructure administration.
• RMM and security tools experience.
• Microsoft 365 expertise.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
• Experience auditing and assessing client environments.
• Proficient in IT Glue / technical documentation.
• Experience creating SOPs, checklists and runbooks.
• Ability to identify technical risks and propose solutions.

Responsibilities

• Proactively audit and assess client technology environments.
• Review LAN/WAN, servers, endpoints, Microsoft environments, and security configurations.
• Benchmark environments against MSP and industry standards.
• Identify gaps, risks, and misalignments before issues arise.
• Perform root-cause analysis to reduce recurring tickets and improve stability.
• Lead client-facing technology/service reviews and develop recommendations.
• Maintain client scorecards, checklists, and standards.
• Build and maintain IT Glue / SharePoint documentation.
• Create client runbooks, SOPs, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with internal engineering, support, and strategy teams.
• Use Microsoft 365 Copilot to improve documentation and automate workflows.
