Job summary

Ascension Health’s St. Joseph Hospital in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a part-time Imaging professional for an evening schedule in the Imaging department. The role focuses on setting up and adjusting equipment to perform exams, ensuring image quality and compliance with safety standards.

You’ll help maintain clean, orderly procedure rooms and support a range of imaging procedures while adhering to regulatory requirements and reporting any equipment issues promptly.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 month (30 days) of hire date.
• Cardiographic Tech credential from CCI within 6 months of hire date.
• ARRT Radiologic Technologist specialization in Sonography within 6 months of hire date; General Radiography required in addition to Sonography; Wisconsin licensure within 6 months.
• ARDMS Sonography credential obtained prior to or within 6 months of hire date (Cardiac or Medical Sonography).
• Cardiac or Vascular Sonography specialization credentials within 6 months of hire date.

• Recognizes significant structures, artifacts, pathology and equipment limitations.
• Ensures equipment functions properly and reports issues; lock/tag out if appropriate.
• Submits high-quality images and patient data to PACS with correct markers.
• Maintains a clean, orderly department and storage areas.
• Maintains compliance with regulatory agencies.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Sets up and adjusts all equipment and manually maneuvers transducers to perform exams.

• Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures.

• Performs routine and complex studies and assists in a variety of imaging procedures.

• Recognizes significant structures, artifacts, pathology and equipment limitations.

• Ensures equipment is properly functioning. Reports potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel. Lock/tag out equipment if appropriate.

• Ensures prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).

• Assists in maintaining a clean, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.

• Maintains compliance with regulatory agencies.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Required Credential(s):

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• One or more of the following:

• Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

• Radiologic Technologist specializing in Sonography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. General Radiography is also required in addition to Sonography. State Radiology Technologist licensure issued by Wisconsin Radiography Examining Board required within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

• Cardiac Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

• Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

• Sonography Tech specializing in Cardiac credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

• Sonography Tech specializing in Vascular Sonography credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.
