Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care in Mississippi is seeking a Radiology Technologist to operate radiology equipment and perform diagnostic procedures as prescribed by physicians, following established standards and safety practices. This role requires graduation from an ARRT-recognized Radiology Technology program and ARRT(R) certification (or pending registry).

An associate degree in radiography is preferred. You will maintain equipment, document procedures, and support quality-improvement

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Operates radiology equipment and performs routine diagnostic procedures as prescribed by physicians according to established standards and practices in order to aid in the diagnosis and/or treatment of disease.

Job Responsibilities

• Performs radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety method as requested by a licensed physician.
• Exercise judgement in selecting and computing settings for each patient.
• Develop an appropriate procedure/treatment plan.
• Implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established hospital protocols/guidelines.
• Completes documentation as required to comply with hospital policies and procedures.
• Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
• Participates in hospital and departmental performance improvement activities to ensure that patient care is consistent with established standards. Collects quality data for monitoring performance improvement.
• Completes assigned goals.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Experience as obtained through the completion of a Radiology Technology Program.

Education

• Completion of a formal education program in radiography accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARRT. Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists with current Registry in Radiography ARRT(R) or new graduate who is waiting to take the registry.

Licensure

• ARRT(R); BLS Certification within 14 days of hire.
• New graduate who will obtain required registry within 120 days of hire.
• State license as required.
