Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health Care is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to operate radiology equipment and perform routine diagnostic procedures in accordance with physician orders and set standards.

Experience from a Radiology Technology Program is required; ARRT(R) registration and BLS within 14 days of hire are expected. An associate degree is preferred, with state license as needed.

Qualifications

• Completion of a radiography program and ARRT registration or pending eligibility.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire; state licensure as required.
• New graduates awaiting registry may be considered if eligible.

Responsibilities

• Performs radiologic procedures using appropriate technique and safety measures.
• Selects and computes settings for each patient with clinician guidance.
• Develops and implements procedure/treatment plans per hospital protocols.
• Documents activities to comply with hospital policies and procedures.
• Maintains equipment and work areas in a safe, organized condition.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and data collection.
• Completes assigned goals and performs other duties as needed.

Operates radiology equipment and performs routine diagnostic procedures as prescribed by physicians according to established standards and practices in order to aid in the diagnosis and/or treatment of disease.

Responsibilities

• Performs radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety method as requested by a licensed physician.
• Exercise judgement in selecting and computing settings for each patient.
• Develop an appropriate procedure/treatment plan.
• Implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established hospital protocols/guidelines.
• Completes documentation as required to comply with hospital policies and procedures.
• Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
• Participates in hospital and departmental performance improvement activities to ensure that patient care is consistent with established standards. Collects quality data for monitoring performance improvement.
• Completes assigned goals.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required

• Completion of a formal education program in radiography accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARRT. Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists with current Registry in Radiography ARRT(R) or new graduate who is waiting to take the registry.
