Under supervision, performs a variety of complex radiology examinations, imaging procedures/treatment, interventional diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the interventional radiology, cardiac cath lab, or electrophysiology lab areas according to radiology practice standards. Also assists in the diagnosis and/or treatment of disease. Performs other duties as assigned. Provides on call and callback coverage as required.
Minimum: Experience as obtained through the completion of a Radiology Technology Program.
Preferred: Minimum of 1 year as a radiology technologist; 6 months experience in IR/Cath lab/EP.
Minimum: Completion of a formal education program in radiography accredited by a mechanism acceptable to the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Minimum: Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Radiologic principals/theory. Utilizes the most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures/treatments as demonstrated by procedure/treatment results. Demonstrates ability to receive and follow written and oral instructions; ability to plan and organize work.
Minimum: Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with Registry in Radiography ARRT (R). BLS Certification within 14 days of hire. New graduate will obtain required registry within 120 days as required. State license as required.
Registry in Vascular Interventional ARRT (VI).
