Job summary

The Baptist Memorial Health Care system seeks an experienced Radiology Technologist to perform interventional radiology, neuro interventional, cardiac cath, and electrophysiology procedures under supervision, following radiology practice standards.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Radiologic principles/theory. Utilizes the most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures/treatments as demonstrated by procedure/treatment results.
• Demonstrates ability to receive and follow written and oral instructions; ability to plan and organize work.
• Experience through completion of a Radiology Technology Program.
• Completion of a formal radiography program accredited by ARRT.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic to complex radiologic procedures in Interventional Radiology, Neuro Interventional Lab, Cardiac Cath Lab, and Electrophysiology lab.
• Sets up sterile table; assembles instruments, catheters, guidewires, and contrast materials.
• Assists Radiologist/Neurologist/Cardiologist with catheters, guidewires, balloons, coils, and treatments.
• Develops and implements procedure/treatment plans per hospital protocols.
• Completes documentation per policies and procedures.
• Maintains equipment and rooms in a safe condition.
• Participates in Performance Improvement activities and completes goals.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Under supervision, performs a variety of complex radiology examinations, imaging procedures/treatment, interventional diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within the interventional radiology, cardiac cath lab, or electrophysiology lab areas according to radiology practice standards. Also assists in the diagnosis and/or treatment of disease. Performs other duties as assigned. Provides-on call and callback coverage as required.

Job Responsibilities

• Performs basic to complex quality radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety method as requested by a licensed physician in Interventional Radiology, Neuro Interventional Lab, Cardiac Cath Lab, and Electrophysiology lab.
• Sets up sterile table, assembles necessary instruments, catheters, guidewires, and contrast materials according to procedure requirements.
• Assists Radiologist/Neurologist/Cardiologist with catheters, guidewires, balloons, coils, and treatments.
• Develops appropriate procedure/treatment plan and implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established hospital protocols/guidelines.
• Completes documentation as required to comply with policies and procedures.
• Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
• Participates in departmental Performance Improvement activities to ensure that patient care is consistent with established standards.
• Completes assigned goals.
• Other duties as assigned

Experience

Minimum Required

Experience as obtained through the completion of a Radiology Technology Program.

Preferred

Minimum of 1 year as a radiology technologist. 6 months experience in IR/Cath lab/EP.

Education

Completion of a formal education program in radiography accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARRT.
