Job summary

First Texas Honda in Austin, TX is seeking a full-time Service Technician or Technician Apprentice. You will inspect vehicles for reconditioning, perform basic maintenance, and work with advisors to deliver quality repairs.

Qualified candidates have a State Inspection Certification and at least 1 year of related experience, plus a commitment to superior customer service. Tools are provided; paid training and advancement opportunities exist within Continental Automotive Group.

Qualifications

• State Inspection Certification is required.
• 1 year or more of relevant on-the-job or apprenticeship experience.
• Experience delivering superior customer experience.
• Ability to work with multiple product lines.
• Knowledge of aftermarket parts/vendors to complete repairs.
• Strong communication and positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly inspect vehicles for proper reconditioning so they may be retailed.
• Perform basic maintenance and vehicle repair as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and advisers.
• Diagnose concerns in drivetrain, electrical, suspension, brakes.
• Maintain a clean workspace.
• Use basic computer skills and learn new programs.
• Bring your own tools; specialty tools provided.
• Hold a valid driver's license for at least 1 year with a clean record.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

The right candidates

• Will have their State Inspection Certification (required)
• Will have 1 year or more of relevant on the job and/or apprenticeship experience (preferred)

Job Duties/Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)

• Thoroughly inspect vehicles for proper reconditioning so they may be retailed.
• Skills to perform basic maintenance and vehicle repair needs
• Works well with team members and advisors
• Proficient with diagnosing concerns pertaining to drivetrain, electrical, suspension, brakes, etc.
• Maintain a clean workspace
• Basic knowledge required to work on a computer and learn new programs
• Have your own tools (specialty tools will be provided)
• Must have held a valid driver's license for at least 1 year and have a clean driving record
• Must be at least 18 years of age to be considered

Hours

• 40 hours per week, overtime may be available or required at times based on business needs.
• Flexibility in scheduling within the hours of 7:00 am - 7:00 pm Monday through Friday, 7:00 am - 6:00 pm Saturday, and 8:00 am - 3:00 pm Sunday.
• Must be able to work either Saturdays or Sundays.

Compensation

• $26.00 - $40.00 flat rate based on experience, ASE certifications, and production
